Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Research Group

The OEHSRG is a cross-departmental and inter-disciplinary group of staff which includes policy researchers, social scientists, chemists, biologists, nurses, biochemists, public health physicians and occupational physicians who have been researching and publishing in the work and wider environment field.

The group has in recent years held contracts and/or received funding from EU programmes, European organisations, international NGOs, research foundations and research councils.  It has made a range of contributions to the development of policy on environmental and occupational health and safety.  Group members have worked on environmental health and occupational health and safety in Western Europe, especially Denmark and UK, and within Central and Eastern Europe, especially in Romania, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Ukraine as well as Africa and Canada. The team have a particular interest in occupational and environmental health and safety in Scotland.

The work of the University Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Research Group covers health and safety in the workplace and in the environment in a range of contexts, especially the industrial and agricultural sectors.
