Four of our student nurses will be heading off to Zambia in March 2010. They have the opportunity of a lifetime to carry out healthcare education in the Lusaka area.
Louisa Smith, Nicola Walker and Catriona Robinson, of Stirling Campus and Niki Spence of Highland Campus are all final year Adult Branch students. Their work will include training healthcare workers with accurate advice and information about HIV/AIDS to those in local communities. They will also provide health information about personal hygiene and minor injuries.
Their experience will build on links with Zambia already established by the University's Department of Sports Studies' Zambia Project.
The girls have a Facebook Group for you to follow their progress and are currently hard at work fundraising for the trip. Any donations would be very much appreciated! Cheques can be made out to Nicola Walker and sent c/o Lynne Black at the University of Stirling, Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Stirling, FK9 4LA. Thank you.
