The Department of Nursing and Midwifery has recently celebrated its first decade within the University of Stirling, and as such is well respected as a provider of education and research within the healthcare sector. The Department has built on the strength of collaboration between the three campus sites of Stirling, Western Isles and Inverness to compile a broad range of expertise and study units relevant to nursing and midwifery practice.
Students wishing to continue their studies with us have the opportunity to progress degree, higher degree, masters and doctorate level, and many of our past alumni have gone on to distinguish themselves in professional practice. Nurses may also wish to continue their professional development by undertaking a shorter course of study, applied directly to clinical practice and leading to a graduate diploma in professional development.
An increasing number of our modules are web-based, making it convenient for students to study in a time that is best suited to their personal and professional lives.
The Department also has a strong research profile and we have developed into one of the most successful Nursing Departments in the country, with a research presence both nationally and internationally.
